I've wanted to share this tip for a long time but a really hard one to share when it's based on my intuition and knowledge. Let me explain a little, one of my daughters suffers with a very deep anxiety, that is immersed in fear and depression too. At times our daughter can get so stuck, heavy and simply cannot explain what is going on nor what will help her.
In these times I turn to the bottle, the non-alcoholic kind of an aromatherapy bottle. I'm fresh out of following the process so while it's in my mind here it goes;
My daughter was experiencing nausea and problems swallowing, she was pale, low in mood and could not fully explain why she was feeling that way, no tummy ache, sh says she wasn't thinking any bad thoughts it just was as it was and she was feeling very scared (she has a fear of any illness).
Start with the facts
First step for me is to check her glands, and inside her throat for any obstruction - these two steps give her some facts - her glands are not swollen and nothing is blocking her airway. Anxiety starts to ease.
Tune into what's happening in a holistic way
The way I do this is with aromatherapy (hence the 'knowledge' note I made at the beginning now this blog). I selected 3 oils that tackle nausea, fear and anxiety. I ask her to simply inhale each one neutrally after smelling the back of her hand then the oil followed by closing her eyes to focus in on this one thing. She does not know which oil is which it's a pure and natural reaction I'm looking for. On this occasion these were her responses.
1) Melissa (Lemonbalm) - she is at peace with this one no big reactions.
2) Ginger - It smells weird, she scrunches her nose, she has a pungent, repelling reaction.
3) Peppermint - It's too strong she says.
The first one is the right one for her in this moment. I apply 2 drops in a base oil and apply gently to tummy, wrists and chest. 30 minutes later she is smiling, laughing, and back to eating.
What 3 oils I might bring to an individual of course will vary, and if you need help on selecting them reach out to me.
1) Melissa - eases anxiety, soothes nervous system.
2) Ginger - eases nausea and offers pain relief.
3) Peppermint - interrupts shock and fear and brings sharp clarity (it also eases nausea).
Let your body share what it needs by bringing subtle holistic support to the conversation. You don't need to share the name of the oil or what they can do you just leave it to natural instincts.
