For a moment reflections of where you were, how dark it was, and what betrayal you felt,
the sense of a broken heart, unexplained pain in your body held, and in time would melt.
You flashback to the hearts your picture took, and had evidence in print to back them up by law,
image after image, the non-negotiable you let go of before, and wondered if there were more.
The silence, the tears that filled your body before they released from your tear ducts,
the who, the what, the where, the when, the why and how as you curl in full body tucks.
The looks of surprise, as you echo the words of what you’re experiencing right now,
are met with shock, the need to process, the anger for that cow.
You are still, grounded and somewhat numb as you type a note to her,
trying to reason, build awareness of the impacts that did occur.
No response, silence in return, she is now cast aside,
a mere error, spontaneous lust but, now he’s not by their side.
The pain for her is enough to leave it be, at peace that it is enough to never repeat,
break a partnership, a family, a life known, its left beat.
Momentarily, (but still years) enable the rejoining of two people again,
lost for a while, but working on; their being, their soul, their zen.
As two people are reborn out of their shell, the warmth and knowing smiles return,
a connection that’s new and fresh, builds at the right pace, at night while candles burn.
They unite, reform, rebuild, regain, it’s beautiful as they embark together to make,
their special bond reminds them why they started out together, it was never fake.
Moments of hesitation, are they doing the right thing, for themselves, for the kids,
They keep returning to a regular brick wall, something keeps them holding on the lids.
To not explode and break apart over just this one thing, but still a large tether,
through pausing, breathing and coming back together.
Briefly, they avoid, they move on and at times forget,
until it is upon them once more and then they regret.
Not facing up to it, staring it in the eye and talking it through,
going over old ground, listening and repeating until you're blue.
Look deep, dig deep and never let it go,
so you can be free, unfurled and slow.
They, you, he need to believe that love brought you here,
have hope, partner up and face the fear.
